WRAFTER FAMILY TO SERVE UP AN EXTRA SLICE OF CHRISTMAS CHEER

The Wrafter Family Band take to the Tuar Ard stage on Friday, December 13th.

With their long-awaited ‘Seasonal Celebration’ Christmas Concert taking place in Moate’s Tuar Ard Arts Centre this coming Friday (December 13th), THE WRAFTER FAMILY BAND have revealed plans to serve up an extra slice of festive cheer for the evening’s proceedings.

With the Kilbeggan quintet’s usual masterful mix of ballads, folk, Irish, and trad music already guaranteed, plus the first ever public performance of their brand new single – THAT TUNE (due for release early in 2025), not to mention some Yuletide classics for the night that will be in it already enough to have fans excited, an extra taste of the band’s recipe for success has now been added to the night’s menu!

In sharing the news, Peter Wrafter explained the idea behind the band’s display of Christmas spirit…

“With this being a Christmas concert, we wanted to add another personal touch of some kind to things, apart from everything that will be happening on stage on Friday. And the more we thought about it, the more we realised that there was one very obvious option staring right back at us. There are few things in life as personal as the proverbial ‘breaking-bread’ with someone, and all that that symbolises.”

Their ‘Seasonal Celebration’ Christmas Concert will also feature the first public performance of their forthcoming single, ‘THAT TUNE’, due for release early in 2025.

Peter continued, “So on Friday night, with the Christmas mood in full swing and the big day itself just around the corner, we’re going to take the opportunity to share some delicious Christmas cake with the audience.”

“And what’s more”, revealed Peter, “some of those cakes – because we’ll need a few! – will have been homemade by Noreen herself. And you can hardly get more of a  personal touch than that! Myself, the two lads (Conor and Thomas), and Aimee are lucky enough to taste the fruits of Noreen’s talents in the kitchen all year round, with Christmas – and her Christmas cake – being a particular favourite time of the year with all of us!”

“So for us, as a family band, and with family and community being something that always means so much to us, a treat like this for our audience – especially on a night like Friday will be – seems like the perfect idea.”
