BRÍD LYONS & LUKE CLERKIN TOUR HITS LEE’S MAY 26th

After playing a sold-out show in Dublin’s Workman’s Club in February, singer/songwriters BRÍD LYONS from Kilkenny and LUKE CLERKIN from Dublin, will embark on a mini Co-Headline tour at the end of May. The pair will play dates in Little Whelan’s in Dublin, John Lee’s Bar in Tullamore and Hole in the Wall in Kilkenny.
Talking about the tour, Bríd said, “I’m delighted to be taking to the road after the release of my debut EP. This will not only be my first tour but it will also be my first time headlining in my hometown of Kilkenny. I’m delighted to be doing more shows with Luke after what has been a great year of sharing the stage together.”
Adding to that, Luke remarked, “This is a very exciting thing to be doing, as it’s always been a goal of mine to do a tour of Ireland, and it’s amazing to be doing it alongside an incredible artist like Bríd. We’ve played a lot together over the last year, sharing stages as individual artists and also joining each other for songs, so it makes sense for this to happen!”
Bríd Lyons is a singer, songwriter and folk musician. Her acoustic sound is paired well with poetic lyrics that conjure images of nature and the human experience. The Kilkenny native’s sound has also been described as being Celtic and ethereal, featuring everything from soaring acapella vocals to rhythmically complex acoustic arrangements. Her latest single, I Must Go was released on April 7th, with her debut EP, Tied to the Turf following soon thereafteron May 5th.
Coming from the working class area of Tallaght in Dublin, Luke Clerkin wears his heart and his home-town on his sleeve, using his music to not only escape his own struggles with mental health, but to also help others with theirs. His Live From The Library EP, which was released on February 24th, marked the beginning of a new journey for Luke’s music, showing his songs in their purest form, vulnerabilities and imperfections included.
~ As well as performing in John Lee’s in Tullamore on May 26th, Lyons and Clerkin can be found either side of that midlands date at Dublin’s Little Whelan’s venue [TICKETS HERE] the previous evening, and at the Hole In The Wall, Kilkenny on May 27th.
