ZOEE COASTING TO SUCCESS WITH NEW SINGLE

Nashville-based award-winning country artist, ZOEE, released her latest single COASTLINE TIME on June 16th.

The song is a relaxing beachy-tune that reminds us of the importance of disconnecting from the digital world and reconnecting with ourselves and nature. Co-written by Zoee, James House, and Stone Aielli, Coastline Time recorded at Cabin in the Woods Studios in Nashville. It features Zoee‘s signature sound that blends pop and country seamlessly, with Zoee on lead and backing vocals, and Nashville A list musicians, Sol Littlefield on electric guitars, Craig Young on bass guitar, Alex Wright on keys, and Shannon Forrest on drums and James House on acoustic guitar.

The track was produced by Zoee and CMA and the aforementioned Grammy nominated James House (mastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound in Nashville).

‘Coastline Time’ is about unplugging, taking a break and stepping back… looking where I’ve been and where I wanna go,” said the Australia singer/songwriter. “The ocean has always been a source of inspiration and healing for me.”

The music video for Coastline Time was filmed in Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina and was edited and co-directed by Zoee and AJ Photography, and brilliantly captures the essence of the song and the summery message it brings.

It’s fair to say that Zoee’s music has captivated audiences with her unique voice and emotive lyrics since a young age. Growing up, she listened to everything from AC/DC to Merle Haggard to Olivia-Newton John. A love of great songs and music is firmly embedded in her DNA.

To date, Zoee has garnered multiple awards and critical acclaim, including winning the 2021 Song of the Year award at the Women of Country Awards for her self-penned song, Take Me Away. She has composed and performed on a feature film soundtrack, Town; charted in the Top 20 on the Amazon Country Charts; and toured extensively throughout the US, UK, Ireland, andScandinavia with her band.

Zoee’s move to Nashville in 2022 has allowed her to collaborate with renowned Grammy and CMA-winning and nominated songwriters such as Kyle Jacobs, Jeff Cohen,Phil Barton, James House, Jamie Floyd, and Steve Dorff. Her recent singles, Dirty Blonde and Castles in the Sand, both reached number-one in Australia, with the latter staying in the Top 40 for a whopping thirty-seven weeks.

Her latest releases are also topping the iTunes charts worldwide, and with over one-million views and 30,000 followers, Zoe is quickly gaining popularity with fans near and far.

As a girl growing up on the coast of southern island Tasmania, Australia, she raced endurance motocross and aspired to turn professional while also working as an abalone diver with her parents. But ,music ultimately found her.

Zoee’s journey has not been without challenges, however. But her love of music has seen her busking on the streets and living in her car at times, all the while following her heart and chasing her passion. And as Coastline Time proves, if ever there was a lady on the right road, it’s Zoee.

BRÍ TO ILLUMINATE WHELAN’S IN JULY DOUBLE-HEADLINER

Last Thursday saw the release of ILLUMINATE, an indie-pop/electronic collaborative single from BENJAMYN and BRÍ.

With lush vocals and synths over heavy-hitting beats, Illuminate demands the listener’s attention while expresseing its optimistic view on the uphill battles we all face in life. The pair worked together virtually to write and record the song, with BENJAMYN producing it in his electronic style.

Released on BlueTide, BENJAMYN & Brí will follow that big day with an equally big night in Whelan’s on July 14th, where Illuminate will make its live debut alongside solo-material and live sets from both artists.

BENJAMYN is actually Dublin based singer-songwriter and electronic music producer BEN HOGAN, who creates his own blend of indie, dance, and electronica. In February of this year, BENJAMYN released his debut album FLOW, along with his new live set which premiered at the album launch party on a barge in the Irish capital.

The twenty-eight year old multi-instrumentalist has been performing since he was a child, experimenting with musical styles ranging from indie-rock and acoustic-folk to funk and hip-hop, eventually synthesising into the electronic style that he calls his own today. He obsesses over combining electronic and organic sounds, and creating emotional yet energetic moments.

To date his releases have amassed coverage from blogs, playlists, and radio stations across Ireland and beyond, with Jenny Greene championing the album on RTE 2FM. He has played numerous shows around Dublin since launching the project in 2018, including a sold-out headliner in Whelan’s in 2022, where he showcased new singles ahead of announcing his album.

And there’s much more to come this year with collab tracks like Illuminate, remixes, new singles, and live performances.

“I was buzzing to work with Brí on this track”, he recalled.

It all came about so naturally after she heard an earlier version of the beat, and when we spoke I knew she would be perfect for it. Once we started writing the song together it really came into its own. I think we both felt the same vibe from the beginning, and I leveraged our ideas with the production as best I could. I can’t wait for people to hear it and feel like they’re lighting up.”

Brí is an Irish, Dublin-based indie pop artist from Offaly. Shortly after releasing her debut track, she sold-out her Whelan’s headline show, was selected to perform at Beatvyne’s Music X Tech Experience, Whelan’s Ones to Watch, The Ruby Sessions and headlined The Sound House and Spirit Store.

With the release of Brí‘s ten-track debut album HIDE amassing over 100,000 Spotify streams, and receiving widespread national and international acclaim, fans are eagerly awaiting the highly-anticipated Brí x BENJAMYN double headline show in Whelan’s on July 14th.

“I’m so excited to release our song ‘Illuminate’. I heard the early beginnings of Ben’s beat on Instagram. I was so compelled to write a song to it that I messaged him straight away; luckily he was up for a co-write. Both of us were going through our own ‘uphill battle’ at the time. ‘Illuminate’ fuelled us to overcome those struggles and we hope it does the same for you.”

PADDY CASEY BOUND FOR JOHN LEE’S THIS MONTH

Singer/songwriter PADDY CASEY is bound for Tullamore venue JOHN LEE’s this month, when his AN EVENING WITH PADDY CASEY comes to town on June 30th.

Paddy Casey‘s double-album Turn This Ship Around was released on August 6th 2021. The album has one side focusing on an array of acoustic songs decorated with strings and piano, with the other side featuring full band tracks that span multiple genres.

Casey shot to fame with the release of his first album Amen (So Be It) in 1999. Produced by Pat Donne, it was certified triple-platinum in Ireland and was also critically acclaimed worldwide. Casey played a range of different instruments in the short time spent recording it, and the track Winter’s Fire featured Mundy as a guest guitarist.

Sweet Suburban Sky surfaced the following year on the soundtrack to the award-winning US TV teen drama Dawson’s Creek. Casey received nominations for Best Irish Songwriter and Best Male Singer at the Hot Press Awards, with Hot Press readers themselves voting the album Best Debut Album, and Casey the year’s Most Promising Act, nominating him in seven other end of the year categories.

Touring has seen Casey provide support to artists such as R.E.M., Ian Brown, Ani DiFranco and The Pretenders.

Having received his first guitar when he was just twelve and left home soon after, he began busking and gigging for about twelve years. He was approached by Sony A&R Scout Hugh Murray at the International Bar in Dublin, while performing at the singer/songwriter night hosted by Dave Murphy. Sony gave Casey some studio time in Sun Studios Dublin where he recorded nine tracks in only two days.

Sony decided that they liked the tracks so much that they wanted to release them as they were. They offered Paddy a recording contract. He was signed by Sony, and was eventually taken in by U2’s management company, Principle Management.

Following on from Amen (So Be It), Casey returned in 2003 with the multi-platinum album, Living, produced by Fred De Faye, Paddy Casey and Pat Donne. This collection brought the Irish Singles Chart the hits Saints and SinnersThe Lucky One in 2003, plus Bend Down Low and Want It Can’t Have It in 2004.

Living spent the majority of the year in the top-ten, climbing to the top of the Irish Albums Chart twenty-one weeks after its initial release. In 2004, he won his first of two consecutive Meteor Irish Music Awards for Best Irish Male. He also garnered good reviews for a performance at that year’s Oxegen Festival. 2004 also saw Living confirmed as the highest selling Irish album of the year. He had a week-long residency at the Olympia Theatre. The year ended with a sold-out performance at Dublin’s RDS.

In 2005, Casey toured extensively in Ireland and abroad; highlights including a headline concert at the Heineken Green Energy Festival and also supported U2 on their Vertigo tour, performing in Ireland, Scotland and Norway.

In 2006, Casey went to Los Angeles, California, United States, to record with George Drakoulias, who had worked at the Def Jam label with Rick Rubin. Recording at Dave Blanco’s Studio in North Hollywood, Casey worked there with some renowned musicians such as James Gadson and Steve Ferrone. He returned to Ireland to finish the new project in his kitchen, working on the rest of the album with the producer Pat Donne.

Eventually titled Addicted to Company Pt. 1, it was released in Ireland on September 7th, 2007, and in the US on April 1st, 2008. In March 2008, MTV US promoted him as MTV Buzzworthy Artist on their TV channel and website, and on its student-led brand, MTVU. He toured the album extensively and also toured with KT Tunstall and Augustana amongst others.

April 3rd 2008, saw Casey perform on the legendary Late Show with David Letterman.

After returning from the US, Casey chose to part ways with Sony and Paul McGuinness, and for the next few years he began writing and recording at home. He decided that the next album would consist of songs that were recorded on the actual day they were written. Once he had a collection he was happy with he called on his old friend Pat Donne and began mixing the recordings.

In November 2012, he released his first independent album, The Secret Life Of. The first single, Wait, featured the Shannon Gospel Choir, and was released in May 2012. Casey toured in Ireland and abroad in the years that followed, with frequent visits to Australia, Europe and the Middle East.

In November 2016, Casey released the single Everything Must Change. This was the first taster taken from Casey’s then forthcoming sixth album. Alongside this, he also released a new music video for the single produced by Banjoman Films.

Unquestionably an artist bound for iconic status in Irish contemporary music history, the opportunity to enjoy Paddy Casey in a setting as intimate as John Lee’s, a venue that truly champions ‘live’ music, is one you simply can’t afford to let slip through your fingers.
