RIGHTTIME FOR THE ‘WRONG NIGHT’ FOR EMMA

It’s been a long time coming, but for country music fans, the NEW single from EMMA DONOHUE is about to prove well worth the wait!
The GLÓR TÍRE 2021 winner has just announced the November 4th arrival of WRONG NIGHT, the next installment of her highly anticipated debut album. It’s been a while now since Emma’s last record – Love Me Tonight – back in April during her successful Glór Tíre campaign. That’s much longer than the Galway girl expected, but as she points out, “That’s just a sign of the times in the music industry for this last year and a bit.”
One thing that’s definitely for sure, though, is that Emma is eager to share her take on this Reba McEntire hit with her fans.
“On the one hand, it’s been kind of frustrating – I won’t lie – not being able to follow up on ‘Love Me Tonight’ before this, especially after the show. But on the other hand, I know it’s just been a crazy time in life for everybody, not just me. And lots of people have had far bigger problems to face, so I try to keep everything in perspective. The main thing now is that we’ve finally finished this single, and I’m totally thrilled with it! So if someone had actually said to me last April that I’d have to wait until now to get my next single out, BUT, that this would be it, I’d have been cool with that. This is a great song, obviously from one of country music’s most legendary figures, and I think I’ve done it justice with my vocals and with what we’ve done in the studio with my production team.”
Wrong Night, written by Josh Leo and Rick Bowles, was released on October 23, 1998 as the third single from Reba McEntire’s If You See Him collection, reaching #6 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in February 1999. That long-player was Reba’s twenty-third, and also featured the duet with Brooks & Dunn, If You See Him/If You See Her, with Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn also releasing an album called If You See Her at the same time.
When Emma released her last single, the aforementioned Love Me Tonight, she got the shock of her life when its creator, legendary singer/songwriter ISLA GRANT, reached out to offer her seal of approval, much to Emma’s delight. Has she thought about what it might be like to hear from Reba?
“Oh my God”, whispers Emma, “I can’t even imagine it. I wouldn’t be the kind who finds herself lost for words too often now, ya know [laughs], but that might do it! I don’t think she’ll hear it, but if by some chance she did, I’d like to think it would bring a smile to her face and that she’d be happy with what I’ve done.”
Whatever about Reba herself, country fans are sure to be delighted with what they hear, as one of Ireland’s brightest young stars makes her long-awaited return to the airwaves.
~ WRONG NIGHT, the brand NEW single from Glór Tíre winner EMMA DONOHUE, will be available on all platforms from Thursday, November 4th, and to request from radio stations nationwide from Tuesday, October 26th.
