GLÓR TÍRE WINNER AISHLING FOR UCHL SOLO-PERFORMANCE

Glór Tíre 2022 winner AISHLING RAFFERTY will make her UNIVERSITY CONCERT HALL LIMERICK debut next month. The twenty year old country music star shared the news with fans via her social media on Sunday night. “I’m delighted to announce that I have been invited by the University Concert Hall Limerick to headline my very own intimate acoustic country concert”, wrote Aishling.

“It’s a huge honour for me to play such a prestigious venue at the young age of twenty”, she continued, adding, “This is something I have always dreamed of and it’s great to see it becoming a reality. It will be a huge privilege for me to once again grace the same stage that the legends Johnny Cash and Van Morrison – to name but a few – have performed on. You’ll be able to hear some of my most recent releases performed ‘live’, such as ‘Darling, Say You’ll Love Me When I’m Old’ and ‘Suds In The Bucket’, and some Irish ballads that I rarely get to perform.”

Aishling joined her Glór Tíre mentor MIKE DENVER at the famous Limerick venue for his show there in April. For her September 28th concert, Aishling will be accompanied by one of the Irish country music scene’s top guitarists and producers, Enda Dempsey. Aishling’s performance will be the first in the UCHL’s Acoustic Country series, with Clodagh Lawlor and Cliona Hagan appearing in October and November respectively.

Aishling’s victory on the 2022 edition of TG4’s long-running country music show Glór Tire saw the Knockshegowna’s singer become a household name on the Irish country music scene. However, even before giving mentor Mike Denver his second title in a row – and his third show winner overall – Aishling was already well on her way to becoming one of the scene’s brightest new stars.

With a string of hit singles claiming the #1 spot on the iTunes country chart in Ireland, not to mention racking up spins on radio nationwide, fans were falling fast for the crystal clear beauty of Ashling’s voice – both on stage and on record – with the always easy-going warmth of her personality possessing a rare charm that’s striking in its sincerity.

Now a household name among country music fans, the student of voice at the Irish World Academy in Limerick is among the most in-demand performers in the country, whether that’s in the company of her musical side-kick Noel Ryan on the social-dancing circuit, or as a special guest at concerts, festivals, and events of all kinds. Already in 2022, and on top of her Glór Tíre win, Aishling has reached the significant career milestones of releasing her official debut album – LOVE ME WHEN I’M OLD – and collected her first major award in country music, taking home the Big Tom Inspiration Award at the 10th Annual Hot Country TV Awards Concert.

And now, with a debut solo-performance at the famous University Concert Hall Limerick on the horizon in September, one thing is for certain: fans can’t get enough of Irish country music’s newest star. This is only the start of a career that promises plenty of exciting days and nights still to come!

~ AISHLING RAFFERTY’s ACOUSTIC COUNTRY performance at the UNIVERSITY CONCERT HALL LIMERICK – where she’ll be accompanied by Enda Dempsey – takes place on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th at 8pm. Tickets are ON SALE NOW from www.uch.ie
